The Rule of Half's - When you divide the value of the cue ball by 2, you get the hit point value that will take the cue ball into the following corner. This is especially true when you shoot from long rail to long rail from any of the positions of the first perfect square of the table.
The use of English in all Dead Ball Systems
A technique explained in the CD-DB1 "How
to get to the Corners"
The Use of English- Using a dead ball system as a reference to
score a given point doesn't mean that you have to shoot without
english. Once you obtain a solid reference to get to a certain
point on the following rails, you can modify the angle of attack
without changing the expected dead ball result. Using either
positive or reverse english usually does this. This technique
allows you to quantify the amount of positive english in terms
of "additional
diamonds" in
relation to the dead ball reference.
Inverting
the Value of the Cue Ball
A technique explained in the CD-DB1 "How
to get to the Corners"
All systems can be implemented in many ways. This video portrays
an "Inverted" application of the Rule of Half's. In this example
the cue ball value is determined by the hit-point on the first
rail. The logical approach of the system considers the shot as
if the cue ball needs to be driven into the adjacent corner of
the first rail hit-point.
The use of Double Reverse English
A technique explained in the CD-DB1 "How
to get to the Corners".
The Use of Double reverse English- The key to implement the "Double
Reverse or Inverted English" technique is derived from the "Rule
of Half's". One you know how to get to the following corner,
the reverse english takes on as soon as the shooter hits
the first rail driving the cue ball before the corner. Once the
cue ball hits the second rail, it inverts its rotation turning
into positive english. The spread of the ball becomes stronger
as it reaches the third rail in the direction of the second target
ball.
As in the previous video, when you have a solid reference
to get to a certain point on the following rails, you can modify
the angle of attack without changing the expected dead ball result.
This technique also allows you to quantify the amount of positive
english in terms of "additional diamonds" in
relation to the dead ball reference.
The

A technique

Across the Length of the Table ".
This pictorial includes a
series of diagrams, videos and explicative texts. The
variations of the different areas of the system are explained
in 1/4-diamond steps. Even though you may be able to implement
the same shot using another approach, the main idea is to demonstrate
the application of the Rule of Half's when shooting across the
length of the table.
The diagram illustrates the position of the first object ball
in relation to the value of the cue ball.
The first video demostrate the validity of the diagram, while
the second video depicts the applicable stroke in slow motion.
